Results of the Russian presidential election in Dubai were proclaimed. Nearly 47% of people voted for the candidate of United Russia - Vladimir Putin.
Dubai, UAE. Vote count has completed at the polling station № 5205 located in the Russian Consulate General in Dubai, where the presidential election took place.
Total number of voters was reported to be 1956. 21 voting ballots were declared invalid in the process of counting. Hence, the final number of votes was 1935.
The results of voting are as follows: 46,7% (905 people) gave their preference to the candidate of United Russia Vladimir Putin, 37,3% (721 people) voted in favor of the independent candidate Mikhail Prokhorov, 10,3% (200 people) voted for the candidate from the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov.
The candidate from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) Vladimir Zhirinovsky won 3% of the votes (58 people), leader of A Just Russia Sergey Mironov — 2,6% (51 people).
Representatives of the Election Committee recorded a high turnout of voters. Thus, in the election of the President of the Russian Federation in Dubai participated 5 times more citizens than in the parliamentary elections, which took place on December 4, 2011.
Independent observers from the Liberal Democratic Party and A Just Russia worked at the polling station throughout the day. There was no violation of the voting procedures detected.
The Russian Business Council in Dubai and Northern Emirates urged its members to actively participate in the election and thanks all those who performed their civic duty as voters.
