May 13, Dubai, UAE – A round table between Dubai Police and the Russian Business Council in Dubai and Northern Emirates (RBC) was held on Wednesday in Dubai Police Officers Club.

The security issues of Russian tourists and property owners, as well as prospects for long-term cooperation between organizations were discussed at the event.

The meeting was attended by Maj. General Khamis Matar Al Muzainah - Deputy Commandant General of Dubai Police, Gocha Buachidze - Consul General of Russia, Dr. Igor Egorov - Chairman of RBC, Colonel Mohammad Rashed Bin Seray Al Muhairi - Director of Tourist Police Department of Dubai Police, Sergey Tokarev - General Secretary of RBC and others. Management of some of the major travel agencies and businesses were present at the event.

According to Maj. General Khamis Mattar, Dubai Police is interested to develop cooperation with the Russian-speaking community in Dubai at all levels. He stressed that Dubai Police is constantly diversifying its services and improves its work. "The number of tourists from Russia is growing as they enjoy the highest level of service at the best restaurants, hotels and shopping centers of Dubai. Policemen at the emergency department are learning Russian language to be able to communicate with Russian-speaking tourists and quickly resolve all issues."

Consul General of Russia Gocha Buachidze thanked Dubai Police for the warm welcome and noted the high level of activity of its officers. "I really like that you provide the stability in such a manner that police officers are not visible on the streets. People are not irritated with their presence. They feel safe here and the fact that we witness the second-generation of Russians born in the UAE is a confirmation of this.” He noted that this event is the major step in future cooperation between Dubai Police and the Consulate in support of the Russian residents and tourists.

Dr. Igor Egorov, Chairman of the Russian Business Council has expressed his appreciation for the event: "Our goal is to invite Russian entrepreneurs to UAE and to create favorable environment for them so that they can run their businesses on sustainable and legal basis. I am confident that this meeting opens the first page in the history of our long and fruitful collaboration."
